FEN TA-10 Tracker Rounds +++

Another innovation in small arms ammunition from FEN, the all new TA-10 Tracker Round lets you discreetly tag a target or vehicle with the latest in ultra miniaturized transmitters and then follow their movements without risking detection. FEN has developed a special low velocity sabot round for the project, which allows the TA-10 to be fired from a range of conventional firearms, without the need for special modifications. These sabots break apart after firing drastically lowering the velocity of the rounds impact and reducing the chances of the target detecting they’ve been tagged. The payload of the TA-10 consists of a 1.5mm diameter transmitter bead encased in a shell containing a high strength bonding agent, On impact the outer shell breaks apart and the bonding agent dries instantly allowing the bead to adhere to virtually any material and remain attached to its target without fear of becoming dislodged. Constructed from special scan proof materials, once attached the tracker unit will beam out a signal for up to 800 meters, under optimal conditions, which can be picked up and traced via a hand held receiver unit. The receiver gives the user the heading, speed, altitude and range of the tracker its been programmed to follow allowing the user to home in, or discreetly follow the target, while each TA-10 comes with its own unique broadcast code to prevent confusion when multiple trackers are in use. As an alternative to the hand held unit FEN is now offering a plug in module for the Limpet computer, which allows you to track TA-10s via your armours onboard systems with data being fed directly into your HUD, this unit requires 1 jack socket. FEN are currently offer the TA-10 in 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 12.7mm calibres for both rifles and pistols and would recommend the use of a silencer to help prevent detection.

Game Notes

The TA-10 Round has no damage and no penetration and is intended to have minimal impact against its target. A tagged target needs to make a detect roll to see if they notice they’ve been hit, modified appropriately by the GM based on where they are hit, what their wearing and where they are. Suggested modifiers are given below, these assume that the character is either using a silencer or that there is sufficient background noise to mask the shot. Shots against vehicles or inanimate objects are unlikely to be noticed, unless the Operative does something like hit a windscreen. The maximum range of the TA-10 will rapidly be degraded if operated underground or in heavily built up areas.
