Toy Tester - Honestly I do test toys for a living, mainly to see if their likely to burst into flames, have pointy bits you can pull off and eat or stab yourself with of if they've been made out of toxic waste etc...And yes this is as weird as it sounds at times, although it does have some fringe benefits such as getting to set fire to the Telly Tubbies and other dubious items :)
(unfortunately we're not allowed to fail things on the grounds of good taste).
Interests
Role Playing - Pretty obvious really since I write and design games. I've been playing on and off for about 10 years since someone foolishly (you know who you are) introduced me to Iron Crowns 'Space Master' (possibly the worst system for a beginer) and have been at it ever since. Fave games include Vampire, Werewolf, SLA Industries, KULT and Beyond The Supernatural (AKA Beyond The Silly and Unnatural....).
RPG Writing and Design - Again pretty obvious. I've been writing my own game, a DEEPER BLUE, on and off for about four years and before this I wrote/illustrated two suppliments for Nightfall Games 'SLA Industries' system. The first of which a 'Hardware Catalogue' was accepted for publication (sort of) but then fell foul of the Wizards of the Coast sell off and never saw the light of day. There are now some selected highlights posted on this site along with a few other things that have gradually been gathering dust on my hard drive (click the link below).
Japanese Anime & Manga - Particularly stuff by Masamune Shirow (creator of Appleseed, Dominion, Ghost In The Shell & Orion)
and Kenichi Sonada (Gunsmith Cats, Gall Force, Bubblegum Crisis & Riding Bean)
although anything with lots of girls, cars, mecha and guns is cool....
Military History - Mostly the late 1800s to the 1940s (strangely enough the periods where much of the technology in a Deeper Blue comes from). Although I'm a confirmed 'Gun Bunny' and collect reams of stuff on all types of weapons and vehicles.
SF & Fantasy In General - Anything from novels, films and comics to artwork and CGI. Favourite artists include, Rodney Matthews, Jim Burns, Philip Castle & Roger Dean.
Computers - Mostly serious stuff (if you can call my writing & designing serious) although I do find time to play games mostly first person stuff Deus Ex, Unreal, Quake, Duke Nukem, the Halflife trilogy, Serious Sam, Wolfenstein, AVP etc.
3D Computer Modelling / Graphic Design & Drawing - Example of which are littered about my Web Pages as well as in my small online Gallery
Music - Gothic Stuff (Sisters Of Mercy, Faithful Dawn, Rosetta Stone, The Merry Thoughts, Children On Stun, Crux Shadows, Dream Disciples etc). Plus Republica, Shampoo, Love & Rockets, PWEI, Carter USM, The Utah Saints and other stuff too numerous to mention. Also regular attender of the Whitby Gothic Weekend :-)
